Phulara Ridge Trek
Phulara Ridge Trek is an easy to moderate trek in Uttarakhand. The trek covers approximately 29 km over 6 days and reaches a maximum altitude of 3,703 metres.
The defining highlight of this trek is the ridge walk, which offers sustained 360-degree panoramic views. The ridge section is described as 8–9 km long and takes around 4 hours to cross. The route also features meadows, dense oak and pine forests, and higher-altitude stretches with rhododendron, maple, and silver birch.
From the ridge, trekkers can see peaks such as Swargarohini, Bandarpunch, and Black Peak. The trek is also noted for quiet campsites set in clearings and meadows, and for passing through the Govind Pashu Vihar National Park region.
The trek begins in Sankri and the source also mentions Taluka and Osla along the broader trek description. One stated route is Dehradun – Sankri – Sikolta – Bhoj Gadi – Pushtara – Taluka – Sankri – Dehradun.
According to the source, the best time for this trek is May to June and September to early November. Another section also mentions spring from mid-February to mid-April, summer from mid-April to June, and autumn from September to mid-November.
The region is described as being associated with spirituality, local folklore, and Mahabharata-linked traditions in the Garhwal Himalayas.
