Bhrigu Lake Trek

Bhrigu Lake Trek is located in Himachal Pradesh in the Kullu district, near Manali, and begins from Gulaba. The trek is known for expansive alpine meadows, dense forests, panoramic Himalayan views, and the high-altitude glacial Bhrigu Lake. The route passes through oak, cedar, pine, and deodar forests before opening into rolling grasslands and ridge sections with views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges, Manali, and Solang Valley.

The trek is generally graded easy to moderate. It is non-technical, but the steep ascent and rapid altitude gain can be physically demanding, especially for beginners. The total trekking distance is about 24 km and the trek usually takes 4 days.

Bhrigu Lake is associated with Maharishi Bhrigu in local belief and is regarded as spiritually significant. The lake sits at about 13,700 ft above sea level, which converts to approximately 4,176 metres.

The source gives differing guidance on the best time: one section recommends mid-June to early October, while another says May and June. Overall, the trek is described as changing significantly through the season, with snow patches in early season, green meadows in July, wildflowers later in the monsoon, and clearer mountain views into autumn.
